 Since the early 1980's I have been showing my work in galleries in Northern California and commissions through galleries have always been an important part of my business. For the last 15 years a good percentage of my work has been commissioned by private clients.

When a work is commissioned by a client, it allows a dialog between us that enables the best design solution. I usually meet with the client in their home and discuss design and wood selection, using my portfolio as a starting point. The portfolio photos are used to show detail and design concepts. The client usually has an idea of what piece or pieces of furniture they want and where they will be placed in their home. I design and draw the pieces from which the client is able to choose, and provide prices. Once a decision is made, a 1/3 deposit is given with the next payment due when I am 1/2 through with the piece and the final 1/3 due upon delivery.

I would also be happy to meet with prospective clients at the Post Gallery in Sonora, which is near my home, to discuss possible commissions.
